ORIGINAL PRODUCT VISUAL / CONCEPT 06
THE PROBLEM WORTH SOLVING

A readable stock-by-stock plan with dimensions and offcuts.

A list of required lengths is not a cut plan. Cutline helps you see how pieces can fit inside available stock before making the first cut.

DESIGNED FORMakers, installers and small workshops cutting linear stock.
THE PROPOSED TOOLKIT

Small scope.
Thoughtful details.

These features define the concept. They are proposed capabilities, not functions available to download today.

01

Stock inventory

Enter available bar or board lengths and quantities.

02

Required pieces

Add each finished length, quantity and label.

03

Kerf allowance

Include material removed by the saw in the planning assumptions.

04

Offcut tracking

Keep usable leftovers visible instead of treating every remainder as waste.

05

Plan alternatives

Compare candidate arrangements rather than claiming a guaranteed global optimum.

06

Workshop printout

Export labelled cut diagrams and a material summary.

FROM TASK TO RESULT

A clear way through.

01

List stock and pieces

Enter consistent units, quantities and saw kerf.

02

Compare a plan

Review proposed arrangements and unusable remainders.

03

Take it to the bench

Print the plan and verify all measurements before cutting.

WHAT GOES IN

One-dimensional lengths, quantities, available stock and kerf.

WHAT COMES OUT

Cut diagrams, part labels and an offcut summary PDF.

Scope & limitations

This is linear cutting, not sheet nesting, CAD or structural engineering. Sample animations do not run an optimisation engine. All dimensions need workshop verification.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Good to know.

Can it optimise panels?

No. Two-dimensional sheet cutting is outside the initial product.

Does it guarantee minimum waste?

No. The proposed app compares practical candidate plans without claiming mathematical optimality.

Can I buy or download it today?

No. Cutline is a concept. There is no checkout, released installer or live app listing. You can send an enquiry about the proposed workflow.

What happens next?

Workshop demand test → tested linear solver → Windows print workflow → Mac. This sequence is a proposal, not a committed release schedule.
